Glyncoch game beats the weather

The only opponent to beat Taffs Well this season has been the weather ,which again this week played havoc with rugby fixtures throughout Wales ,but Taffs Well had a bit of luck when their game against Glycoch was brought forward to Tuesday night and the weather relenting ,allowing the game to go ahead  . The switch was made to enable the much postponed Swalec bowl game against Fairwater to be played on Saturday ,but that was scuppered before the weather intervened ,when it was realized that league games take priority ,and Fairwater had to play their league game against Aberdare ,that fourth round Swalec bowl game against Fairwater will now take place on Saturday with a 2.30 pm kick off .It is going to be a very busy final few months of the season ,for Taffs Well ,as they chase honors in four competitions ,and although the league remains the priority ,and have five games to catch up with ,they  still have  Swalec bowl ,east district cup ,and silver ball games to play . The first of these will be played next wednesday ,2 March at Maesteg ,kick off 7.15 pm when Taffs Well play Crynant in the quarter final of the silver ball competition. The game against Glyncoch produced another good performance as the side ran in ten tries to keep up their unbeaten record. A confident Taffs Well started brightly and it wasn't long before centre Mathew Wright went over for his sides first try ,which was quickly followed by further tries from player coach Rhys Watkins, wing Chris Burgwyn ,and scrum half Ashley Bonetto ,which gave his side the important bonus point. Glyncoch ,who were competitive throughout hit back before the break with a try ,the first conceded by Taffs Well in four games .The second half was much the same ,with Watkins and Burgwyn both claiming a second try ,plus a brace  for the versatile Justin Jones who played in the centre ,but can also play in the back row, with fullback Shaun Baggs adding one conversion,to leave the final score  52--5. Glyncoch to their credit never gave up and showed great passion as they battled until the final whistle, which their coaches will hope will give them a good finish to what has been a disappointing season.
