Taffs Well continue good league form

Taff's Well continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 41 -7 win at Glyncoch. They have now won all four league games picking up a bonus point in every game and are the only unbeaten side in the division . On a wet afternoon ,with the pitch cutting up , Taffs Well took a while to get into their stride but after dominating play for some time flanker Rhys Watkins raced over in the corner to score the first try of the game. Wing Ronan Barrett, showing impressive speed, took an interception and cut through the home defence to score the second try. Then followed tries from scrum half Ashley Bonetto and centre Mathew Wright. Rhys Bolderson slotted over two conversions and a penalty goal to give Taffs Well a 27-0 interval lead. Glyncoch started the second half in determined fashion and after good work by their forwards they broke clear from a ruck to cross in the corner for a good try which they converted to bring the score back to 27-7.This was the wake up call Gareth Gibbs and his team needed. They drove forward to once again take control, scoring two more tries in the process. Wing Ronan Barratt went over for his second and number eight Max Watkins scored his side's sixth try. Both were converted by Rhys Bolderson, following in his father Brian's footsteps who was a former player coach for Taff's Well in the late eighties .With the world cup final being played next Saturday Taff's Well take a break from the league until Saturday 7 November when  Cefn Coed RFC are visitors to Maes Gwyn for kick off at 2.30pm.
