*New Players*

What does Taff''s Well RFC offer that may interest any player thinking of joining a new club?  Well...here's food for thought:

  • One of the newset and finest rugby clubhouses in South Wales
  • A superb playing pitch which is used for many high profile games including internationals (2 x pitches in all)
  • State-of-the-art match and training lights
  • Match viewing baclony
  • 1st, 2nd, Ladies, Youth & U16's sides plus a Mini & Jnr Section
  • End of season overseas tour
  • Family orientated environment with children’s play area facilities
  • Easy train, bus & car access from all directions (7 miles north of Cardiff)

A Family Orientated Club

Taff's Well rugby club is a great place to bring the family and is set in between the pictutesque setting of the Garth and Graig mountains with the former being the subject of the film 'The Englishman who went up a hill and came down a mountain' starring Hugh Grant and Tara FitzGerald which was made by former Taff's Well resident come Hollywodd producer Chrisopher Monger.

The Williams Brothers

The club is steeped in history providing the home of the seven famous Williams brothers who all represented Cardiff RFC including Bleddyn 'The Prince of Centres' Williams who many say was the finest centre ever to grace the game of rugby. Along with many internationals and Welsh international Captains, the club has also spawned three British Lions in the shape of Belddyn Willimams, Ike Stephens and Steve Fenwick together with a host of youth international, U18, proffessional rugby league, deaf international and foreign internationals who have spent all or part of their careers at Taff's Well.

What standard do we play at?

Taff's Well are currently playing in Div. 3A East Central having finished 5th last season and having won Div. 3B in 2015/16 and getting to the final of the WRU Bowl at The Principality Stadium during the same season losing cruelly in the last moments. Our 2nd XV finished as runners up last year in Division1 of the Cardiff & District Lge with our youth side winning their division in the first year of formation. One of the most exciting developments in the recent history of Taff's Well rugby club has been the formation of the burgeoning Ladies section which goes from strength to strength after recently completing their first full season of playing.
