It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Taff’s Well RFC’s President, Jack Idwal Edwards, on Monday 7th November 2022.
Jack was a much loved and respected member of our rugby club. He played hooker for the 1st XV during the early 1950s and served as the Taff’s Well RFC Fixture Secretary for many years. He was also Treasurer of the East District Rugby Union over many decades.
After his retirement from his various roles within the Club he has been a constant supporter of senior rugby. He was also a member of the Vice Presidents club where he enjoyed the company of his many friends at all the events.
Jack was born and lived in Taff’s Well all his life and worked for the Western Mail and Echo in the print room. Jack was married to his beloved wife Jess for 66 years.
His presence and friendship will be sadly missed in the Club by his friends and all who knew him. Our deepest condolences go to Jess and his family.
