After a long period of ill health, it is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of one of our former Club members, Peter Dobbs, on Wednesday 30th September 2020.
Peter was 74 and was born and lived nearly all his life in Oxford Street, Nantgarw. In recent years he lived happily in sheltered accommodation in Rhydyfelin and served as a member of the residents’ Committee.
For many years Peter was an active member and volunteer at Taff’s Well RFC. He cherished his role as 1st XV kit man and he travelled to all games and also on Club tours. Peter was so proud to be awarded Clubman of the Year in recognition of all his efforts.
Peter was an enduring figure at all our Club social events and occasions and who will ever forget his impersonation of the singer Shaking Stevens to the music of ‘Behind the Green Door’. He made so many friends within the Club and with the teamsthat we played.
Peter will be missed by his family and all his friendsin the area of Nantgarw and at Taff’s Well RFC.
The arrangements for Peter’s funeral wil be announced later.
