Taff's Well 17 v 14 Caerphilly
Taff's Well took advantage of the rain and called off games to sneak into second place in the league after a hard-fought win over Caerphilly before a big crowd. The fourth win of the campaign was thanks to a never-say-die attitude which yielded a late Ronan Barratt effort from full-back who crossed near the posts to snatch the game. Oustanding performances front blind-side Lewis Edwards and MOM prop Ben Atkin ensured that the good start to the season was maintained with further tries coming from wingman Christian Nicholas and prop Ben Atkin plus a conversion from outside-half Morgan Hayward.
Taff's Well Women 54 v 5 Porthcawl
The women entertained new outfit Porthcawl this afternoon who put up a brave effort before the experience of the current WRU Bowl holders told. The score didn't really reflect the part played by the Porthcawl girls but there was far too much experience around the park in the home ranks which meant that scrum-half Louise Shanahan profited from her pack's efforts by cashing in with 4 x tries supported by Blues hooker Kayleigh Cushing with another 4 plus full-back Kayley Smith and No.8 Beth Morgan touch-downs with flanker Shauna Bowman-Rees adding two conversions.
