With a sixth consecutive win ,Taffs Well remain top of the league . They also collected a try bonus point for the sixth time in the 34-6 home win against second in the league Canton . Shaun Baggs on his debut settled in quickly to give a solid display, and it was Baggs who opened the scoring with a penalty goal after five minutes play. That settled the home side and they started to get on top resulting in two tries from player coach Rhys Watkins and one from outside half Ross Lucas which was converted by Baggs to give Taffs Well a 20-0 interval lead.The game was rapped up after the break with a try from wing Ronan Barrett convered by Shaun Baggs and a try from Ryan Smith which brought up the 200 points Taffs Well have scored in the league.The visitors worked hard throughout the game but found it hard to break the home defence in the end they had to settle for a couple of penalty goals as their only reward for their efforts.The front row of captain Gareth Gibbs, Mathew Desmier, and Graham Harvey putting in a big shift and they received good support from Tommy Guy and Adam French in the second row. The one sad note was the early loss of center Martin De Torres who pulled up with a ham string problem, but luckily the reshuffle did not disrupt the backs too much .This Saturday Taffs Well travel to Penygraig kick off 2.30pm, while on Sunday Taffs Well ladies are home to Lampeter r.f.c. kick off 2.00pm Mike Gibbons
