U15s fight hard at Llanishen

With the First XV receiving a Cup-bye and no game for the Women this past weekend, it was left to the Second XV and the U-15s to fly the flag for Taff's Well RFC this past weekend, and both showed typical Taff's Well fighting spirit and determination in valiant defeat.

On Saturday, the 2nd XV travelled away to Rumney 3rds in Cardiff. On a day made for running rugby, both sides threw the ball around and looked to play. The home side were strong, and made the best of the opening half - both teams trading early tries before Rumney made their dominance show with a couple of late tries in the half. Taff's fought well and there was parity for much of the second half, before Rumney's strength told and they ran in several late tries- running out eventual winners 48-5.

On Sunday, the U-15s took the short drive South to Llanishen to tackle the Cardiffians on their home 4G turf. The trip was always going to be a tough assignment against a well arranged and well drilled Llanishen team. The Taff's boys fronted up really well and showed plenty of heart and fight, even when reduced to 13 men. However, credit to the disciplined and well drilled home side, who put on a fine display and ran out eventual winners, 61-7.

Not the results we'd hope for but as always we're seriously proud of our boys who pull on the famous black and white Taff's Well jerseys!

We go again at home Saturday!! #UptheWell
