Club Statement - Bryan Coombes

Bryan ‘Bampy’ Coombes

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our former player Bryan Coombes on Monday 10th June at the age of 78 years. He was a great character and a much liked and a well-respected former player. Bryan played at prop-forward position for a number of years at Taff’s Well RFC. He will be missed by all his friends and the players and ex-players at the rugby club.

Originally from Tylorstown, Bryan worked as a carpenter and has been married to his beloved wife Pat for 61 years. They have lived in the village of Taff’s Well since 1981. Who will ever forget Bryan and Pat’s wonderful jive dancing  demonstrations in the old rugby club!

Our deepest condolences and thoughts go to Pat, daughter Paula, grandchildren Nadine, Lee and Jason and their 10 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will take place at Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Crematorium on Tuesday, 9th July at 2.30pm. Pat and the family would like to invite everyone to join them afterwards at Fagins in Taff's Well for refreshments and friendship.
